If you’ve never heard about capsule wardrobes, let us tell you that it’s a great way to overhaul your wardrobe. A capsule wardrobe is made up of few, but essential, pieces of clothing. It usually consists of around 40 pieces, including shoes, scarves, hats, and outwear. This number does not include loungewear and workout clothes. The great thing about a capsule wardrobe is that you get to select clothes that you really love and wear those, and those alone for a period of three months. When the months are over, overhaul your wardrobe again; donate or throw things you’re tired of or that you no longer want and buy new things. It’s cheaper this way, and with a capsule wardrobe, you also get dressed so much easier in the morning and packing for trips becomes incredibly easy. There are plenty of YouTube tutorials on how to create a capsule wardrobe, so take a look and maybe it will inspire you to give it a try!
Accessories – It’s Where It’s All At!
Accessories can make or break an outfit, so put some extra thought into what you plan to bring with you on vacation. If you’re going to a warm place, then pact at least two pairs of sunglasses, they can really spice things up! Also, a stylish sun hat will make you feel like a million bucks. Jewelry to the beach? Yes, please! A nice, long necklace will make even the most boring bathing suit look trendy. On the other hand, if you’re heading to a cold destination, then get some colorful hats that complement your outfits, you can stay warm and stylish! Lastly, scarves! No matter where you’re going, you’ll need at least two or three as they can truly complete an outfit!
Choose Your Shoes… Wisely
When it comes to shoes, you really do need to be as comfortable as possible when you’re on vacation. Still, that doesn’t mean that you have to bring those God-awful Crocs with you, no matter how comfortable you feel in them. Our tip for a stylish vacation, shoe-wise, is to pack light sneakers and avoid running shoes. Something such as Vans or Converse are great and also stylish, as they can be paired with dresses, jeans and even suits. Please remember that unless you’re Seinfeld in the 90’s, running shoes are to be worn exclusively when running.
“Do I Feel Great in This?”
This is the question you must ask yourself when you are packing. If the answer is no, then don’t pack it. Only bring clothes that make you feel great, because if you feel great, it will show in photos and real life. Get the pieces of clothing you adore that complement your style and your body. Leave behind things that just keep you warm and look awful. It is possible to have both; you can feel comfortable and look amazing, you just need to do a little closet digging.
A nice smile on your face is truly the best and the most stylish thing you can wear on your holiday. Have fun, laugh, take photos and enjoy your free time!
